It was a busy, but fun weekend.

Friday, I met up with [livejournal.com profile] nonljeric, Sean, and a visiting [livejournal.com profile] jprtoronto from Toronto for dinner at Chez Nora on Mainstrasse in Covington, KY. The food was pretty good and it was a great night to eat outside and the guy who kept clearing our plates was a cute little furry guy. After dinner we went walking around during the Gallery Hop on Mainstrasse, which was small and a lot of the artwork was not that appealing. Afterward, we went to Shooters where we got a disturbing proposition from an ugly drag queen and then surprised [livejournal.com profile] cincycub, [livejournal.com profile] _decibel_, Derek's sweetie Chris, and a visiting [livejournal.com profile] beeftenderloin by showing up at Hamberger Mary's for drinks. I got cruised by a cute, muscular daddy type who was passing through on his way to Detroit and found a stranger's debit card on my walk back to my car. The daddy vanished before I left and I called the card owner when I got home and mailed the card back to him Saturday.

Saturday morning, John and I went to lunch at the Pub and hit the comic book stores. I never realized how much more comics were in Canada. John also got to meet the creepy comic book guy I had posted about. I drove John around to see some oddities of northern KY. He has pictures, so I'll let him tell you about them. Afterward, we went to the Levee and caught a movie followed by a trip across the Purple People Bridge :)

Chicken Bottle Rocket

The movie was good, lots of background gags to pay attention to, but I think John and I both agreed that it's not one we'd watch over and over again or buy.

Saturday night was dinner at Red Robin with the crew, followed by TV watching at Sean's house, and then a trip to the Serpent, the local leather bar. It was a fun time, got to see cutie Paul the bartender and a few other familiar faces. I never thought that I would close a bar.

I got home to a completely dark house. For some reason the power was out. Luckily I know where I put the candles in the house. I was exhausted and slept through the storm that passed through. Thankfully the power was back on when I woke up earlier this afternoon.

Okay, now I'm tired and I'm hitting the bed early tonight. I hope John had a good time, and I look forward to the pictures :)

I went to the Serpent tonight to hang out with Paul for a bit. After hearing about my rough work month, Paul gave me a great back and shoulder rub. The man has amazing hands, it felt so good after a tense month. Paul's a great guy :). While chatting with a few guys, I noted that I often drink Diet Coke while others drink beer. It made me recall my only drunken experience. So being one to laugh at myself.. often... I found a photo of this half-remembered experience.

And the Rest of the Story )

Needless to say, I was miserable for the next two days. While being all tipsy and stuff was fun (I was labeled the life of the party from many family members), but the morning after and the following day was horrible. So I have not repeated the experience since. I generally cut myself off at two beers now. I'm afraid, Patsy Stone I ain't.

As a joke, a friend bought me a bottle of Gold Rush for my birthday... it sits downstairs to this day. It's a very pretty snow globe. :)

I woke up this morning in a bit of a funk, just tired and lethargic and not really in the mood to go to work. I got dressed and realized the tumble I took on the track the other day made it very uncomfortable to wear long pants. The scrapes seem to be healing, I guess.

Ouch!

I'm not sure what looks worse, the many scrapes on my calf or the fact my leg is tan, but my foot isn't. Those scrapes still sting, it seems they're in the right place to hurt when my leg flexes. Sigh... :(

For a day off, I was pretty busy. The Rest of My Monday Off... )

It was a good day, but I'm beat.. whew...
