I woke up this morning in a bit of a funk, just tired and lethargic and not really in the mood to go to work. I got dressed and realized the tumble I took on the track the other day made it very uncomfortable to wear long pants. The scrapes seem to be healing, I guess.

Ouch!

I'm not sure what looks worse, the many scrapes on my calf or the fact my leg is tan, but my foot isn't. Those scrapes still sting, it seems they're in the right place to hurt when my leg flexes. Sigh... :(

For a day off, I was pretty busy. I pretty much started the day with a low-carb asiago bagel from Panera followed by massive house cleaning. With all the traveling I've done of late, I've let the house get away from me a bit. So I spent the morning catching up.

During a break, I hopped on 411 and chatted with my new buddy Rick who flew into town last night, moving from Oregon to here. He's job hunting and staying with a friend until he can find something. The only negative I see is that he doesn't drive and living in Hamilton where I don't think the bus lines go from there to downtown Cincinnati. So I drove 40 miles to take Rick to lunch and see how things were going. He's a nice guy, I hope something turns up for him soon.

After lunch, I dropped Rick off at his place and headed home. On the way, I got the urge to go bowling. I played with a couple of friends the other night and I sucked! Far worse than I used to.. so I decided to go practice a few games. My high score was 154 out of four games. I figure I've improved a bit.

As I was leaving the bowling alley, I decided to go see Paul at the Serpent. I haven't seen him since before I left for Ireland and England. So I got there just as Paul was opening up. After helping him set up things, I got a beer and Paul changed into his work outfit for the night, which basically consisted of him in his black and red boxers, his boots, and his ball cap. Good heavens! Paul is a handsome and beautifully furry guy!!! I was drooling! Ah, if only he were single :)

I think Paul gets bored during those early hours, as there usually isn't anyone there but him. He's a sweet guy and great conversationalist, we talked for a good two hours before I had to head home.

It was a good day, but I'm beat.. whew...
