Brunch and Untraceable
Jan. 27th, 2008 12:19 amIt's been a great Saturday, starting out with a great brunch at Brian's (
cincycub) with the usual gang. Brian is a great cook and I need to get the recipes he makes. Afterward, we sat around and chatted a bit, but the breakfast kinda made me sleepy (oooh.. the carb-filled goodness). So I went home for a nap, followed by a Chipotle dinner.
I made it to the movies later to catch a showing of Untraceable. Diane Lane plays an FBI agent in the computer crime division who becomes the lead agent investigating a website where people are tortured and killed online, shown through streaming video. The twist is that as more people log in to see the person being killed, he dies faster. The acting is very good and I was surprised to see Collin Hanks playing another FBI agent. The movie is a bit gory, but no more than any other thriller these days. It does raise a question: if you knew that logging onto the site caused someone to die faster, could you be charged as an accomplice? Hmm.... I enjoyed the movie and would see it again, but I don't necessarily see it as something I'd buy.

Date: 2008-01-27 05:26 pm (UTC)For the frittata, I just sauteed some dices onion, zucchini and red potatoes in a tablespoon of butter on the stove (in an oven-safe skillet), poured in a mixture of 2 cups of Egg Beaters (equivalent to 8 eggs), a little skim milk, salt, pepper and dried basil to taste. Let it start to set for a minute then put it in the oven at 400 for about 20 minutes. Simple ;) The trick to getting it not to burn is to take it slow, not TOO slow but don't have the heat up too high. It'll take some time to soften up the potatoes especially.
