So many movies, so little time...

While cleaning out my bookshelf downstairs, I found over a dozen movie ticket stubs from various flicks in my key bowl. Looking through them, I was amazed how long they'd been there and how many movies I've seen over the last few months. LOL! I really need a life.

There are some good times in these tickets though:

There is something very magical to me about watching a movie in a theater, it's an experience versus watching it at home. I'm sure I'll be heading to many, many more.

I don't think it's you getting older, I think it's just a loss of respect for watching a movie on the part of some bratty kids. And they don't see the problem with talking in a movie, or text messaging, or being obnoxious.

If they came in after 45 minutes then I'll bet they didn't have tickets. I would have grabbed an usher and had them checked and then demanded my money back because you couldn't enjoy the flick. Most theaters I've been in no longer have ushers in the theater unless they've already had a problem, and sadly, they're mostly teenagers themselves.

It almost makes you want to NOT go to the movies. A friend of mine suggested that theaters should have "adults only" showings of popular movies, no matter the rating, to exclude the teenage brats that filter in and the screaming babies that have no business being in the movie in the first place. I wish they'd do it.

Our Showcase up here in Springdale recently converted and created 4 special directors cuts room. It cost $2.00 more to see a movie in there, but the offer added amenities like nicer chairs and reserved seating. I don't think the amenities are worth the extra cost. But I do think the extra cost is worth keeping the teenagers and parents with crying babies out. I hate to sound like a snob, but I want to enjoy my movie!

Oh, I would gladly pay the extra money for the comfort and enjoyment of the movie without the teenybopper crowd. The sad part is that we shouldn't have to pay more to enjoy it that way.

... and I think babies should cost a full price ticket. I'm sure that would eliminate a fair number of parents who want to take them to a show!
