Thanks for all the compliments yesterday on Grizzly & The Bear Patrol #6. I really enjoy the feedback (and even criticism, though there wasn't much of that). If any of you haven't read the latest issue, you can catch it here.

If anybody has any questions about the issue, let me know. I often get feedback on the art, but I'd be curious about the story. I admit I don't focus as much on writing as I do the artwork.

I'm suffering from a bit of post-issue malaise. I spend so much time getting the comic finished and getting it posted, that after it's done I'm not sure what to do with myself. The excitement is over and things slowly get back to whatever is normal for me. Of course, until the next issue starts forming in my head, which is likely to be soon, but the body needs the break.

Antonio as HeroI do have a chance to catch up on my other cartoon requests. I've been chatting with a handsome devil in Chile named Antonio. He is an artist, but works more with physical materials and sculpture than drawing. He asked me a couple of weeks back to draw him as a hero a with Roman gladiator type theme. Who am I to turn down a beautiful man's request?

After issue #6 was done Friday, I spent a little time Saturday night drawing and came up with this draft of his hero. I don't have a name for him yet. Antonio seems to like it and wants to work together on design changes and final look, which is great. Who knows, maybe he'll turn up in a future issue.

I just finished going through all six issues -- they're great! I like the bears, their powers, names, and costumes. I'm particularly glad that you're making them sexy but not pornographic -- I can't stand Patrick Fillion's work. (I'm all for pornographic comics, but having superheroes out and about with their cocks out? No.)

The stories are a bit campy and satirical, which I'm also really enjoying. #6's villain, the Arcade-like Gaymer, is a perfect example.

Really well done, my friend.

Hm, I should send you my Superhero S&M novelette...

Thanks Eric! I'm glad you enjoyed them. I've purposefully made the comic "PG-13." Not that I haven't drawn more R-rated and beyond, but I wanted the comic to be something I could show to my friends and family without shocking them. I like Fillion's artwork, he draws some amazing musculature, but the over-the-top bits are certainly not work-friendly. Have you seen Logan's comics? There is one called "The Pornomicon" that is stunning!

As for the themes of my comics, well... I try not to take them too seriously. It's supposed to be fun. And I adore the Gaymer, and the guy he's based on.

Novelette, did you say? :)

The Pornomicon is indeed amazing.

Yep, a novelette... The first part of the first chapter is on my LJ, go to the "Deep into the light" tag. If you want to read more after that, let me know.
