I may have asked this sort of thing before, but here goes again:

I ordered a book from Amazon Marketplace and was sent a confirmation email from the seller. A few days later, I then was issued a refund by the seller because they said that they didn't have the item I ordered in stock. I checked my orders and I have the option to send the seller feedback. As I was looking to re-order the item from another seller, I noticed that the original seller still has three copies of this out-of-print book posted as available, only for more money.

So, what sort of feedback should I leave? Should I leave negative feedback for advertising an item they state they don't have, yet still advertise they sell? Or should I just not leave any feedback and let it be?

Honestly. They flat out lied to you.

I'd post as negative feedback as I could and get as much explanation I could into the tiny feedback form.

Frankly, this is "Bait and Switch" and is illegal.

I would send the seller a note clearly explaining your position...They should honour your original contract.

That being said, I can understand if they had a copy that due to condition, was less expensive and it was sold and not recorded as being out of stock...It makes good business sense, however to stick to the original contract, and send the nicer copy at the original price with a letter of explanation. If they won't honour the original contract, I would leave a mildly dissapointed review of them in feedback.

Leave negative feedback. Other buyers need to know what kind of service these people provide and your experiences. From the look of it, people need to know about this guy.

I would probably send the original seller something to this effect: "I could not help but notice that, contrary to your previous claim, you still have a few copies of this book ... except now at a higher price I was prepared to pay. May I ask why?"

I would leave them negative feedback and email him asking why would they possibly still have a listing for this item when he clearly stated to you that the item was out of stoclk.

Email Amazon's business practices before you do anything else. It sounds like this reseller is possibly committing fraud. Then email the seller and let them know that you're wondering why the book you asked for is being sold for a higher price, after being told it was out of stock.. THEN you leave negative feedback.
