Consumer Advice Needed -- Vacuum Cleaners
Mar. 26th, 2008 12:28 pmHey all,
I am contemplating buying a new vacuum cleaner. Having Murphy and Maggie shedding all over creation has all but killed my last one and it's on last legs anyway. I've been looking at several that are specific to pet cleaning, but don't want to spend $500 on a Dyson (it's a vacuum cleaner, not a iTouch for heaven's sake!) Have any of you found a good bagless vacuum that works well for you, especially if you have pets at home? Just curious.

Date: 2008-03-26 05:51 pm (UTC)I think it comes down to price for any good vacuum cleaner. $100? Yeah, not going to last long. Looking at Consumer Reports, you need to spend about $300 for a really good vacuum. Kenmore's rated at the top for uprights (as of Jan 2008). Dyson ranked lower at 10th, and 15th place approximately with a MSRP over $550--ouch.
You should get yourself an online subscription to Consumer Reports. It's well worth the money.
