The Eye and a toon...
Feb. 2nd, 2008 06:48 pmLast night I went to see a late showing of The Eye. Jessica Alba stars as a blind violinist who undergoes a transplant to regain her sight which she lost as a child. As she begins to heal, she starts to see shadowy figures and images of the dead. She and her sight therapist try to figure out why she is seeing these things and the mystery about her donor.
The movie was okay, the acting was good and the story was relatively solid. I didn't jump much, but I can't say it wasn't creepy. Alba does a good job garnering sympathy. I especially like Parker Posey as her older sister. There is just something very cool about her. I enjoyed the movie and would see it again, but I can't say I'd buy it.
Last night was a rough one in that the kids in the theater just would not be quiet, particularly one bimbo who giggled her way through most of it with her boyfriend basically talking at normal volume. I asked for an usher and a cop (maybe a rent-a-cop) came in and the brats remained quiet for a few minutes. As soon as a spooky scene happened though, they were worked up again. The burly usher did give me a neat idea for the toon behind the cut that I put together today. I can't say he's a hero, but I won't call him a villain either.

.. and I would say she still wouldn't shut up...
Not that I would condone violence against them, but I can never understand why the heck they would pay $9 to go to a movie and not watch it.
