Last night I went to see a late showing of The Eye. Jessica Alba stars as a blind violinist who undergoes a transplant to regain her sight which she lost as a child. As she begins to heal, she starts to see shadowy figures and images of the dead. She and her sight therapist try to figure out why she is seeing these things and the mystery about her donor.

The movie was okay, the acting was good and the story was relatively solid. I didn't jump much, but I can't say it wasn't creepy. Alba does a good job garnering sympathy. I especially like Parker Posey as her older sister. There is just something very cool about her. I enjoyed the movie and would see it again, but I can't say I'd buy it.

Last night was a rough one in that the kids in the theater just would not be quiet, particularly one bimbo who giggled her way through most of it with her boyfriend basically talking at normal volume. I asked for an usher and a cop (maybe a rent-a-cop) came in and the brats remained quiet for a few minutes. As soon as a spooky scene happened though, they were worked up again. The burly usher did give me a neat idea for the toon behind the cut that I put together today. I can't say he's a hero, but I won't call him a villain either.

Just Be Quiet!
.. and I would say she still wouldn't shut up...

Not that I would condone violence against them, but I can never understand why the heck they would pay $9 to go to a movie and not watch it.

We had some kids in the theater last night. They were quiet, but it annoyed me when they laughed at certain parts of the movie. There are several moments in Cloverfield where they are in shock and not themselves and the kiddies would just giggle at them thinking it was humor. Uh..., no. Shut it. Whatever... [rolls eyes]

If it were me and had someone doing that, I would have no problem turning around and asking them to be quiet very directly.

Normally I don't have a problem telling them to shut the heck up. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] cincycub as I have been known to do that in the theater with him sitting there.

These kids were way behind me (which tells you how loud they were) and I couldn't single them out of the crowd.

Well, you do have the black hair and goatee going for you (can't verify the chest hair). ;)

I think the teeth baring showing your evilness was what did it for me. Some of your userpics show this.

Yeah, right! You are so silly--I like you. :) I would torture you more, but I'll calm you with this soothing sunset for now.

Oh heavens no... not to overshare, but I had a guy swat me on the butt hard during a rather intimate moment and it shattered the mood completely.

LOL! Sorry, that was funny. :) I can't say that I've had someone smack me on the butt during an intimate moment. Well, OK, maybe a little slap here and there, but nothing more.

What did you do when he swatted you really hard? Smack him back?

Some theaters here in NYC are assigned seating. Kind of like going to a concert. I sometimes have to sit next to some giggling teens. I truly have no problem telling them to shut the hell up. Also I hate the ones sit in front of me and text message, the glow is anoying.
