A co-worker today asked me to come look at something in one of our smaller conference rooms. I saw this small pile of something on the floor, thinking at first it was mud or a large bug (it had a strange shape). At first I thought it was mud as there were trailings like someone had scrapped their shoe on the carpet in this small room. I went and got a paper towel to pick it up and realized it wasn't mud... it was poop!

The mystery of who left the little nuggets is now afoot in the office. This small conference room has two doors, one into the office area and the other across from that door goes into the hallway. The hallway door is also across from the ladies restroom. The general theory is that someone had been doing the "green apple shuffle" to the ladies room and didn't make it. The office janitor says that he found evidence that our culprit is a woman from his checking of the restroom this morning.

It's caused a very negative stir in the office. Many people are wondering who in a supposed professional setting would just leave something like that to be found without making some effort to clean it up. Ewwwww!

Someone did that on the bus last week.

Is this some sort of Kentucky thing nobody told me about?

Ummm.. no.. this happened on the Ohio side of the river, thank you! I suspect the culprit is from this side too. :D

That is absolutely disgusting. Are you sure it wasn't dog poop, and someone cleaned their shoes in the conference room and bathroom? I mean, the idea of a co-worker shitting in the conference room is almost inconceivable!

I thought about that, but the evidence wasn't the scraped-shoe-on-carpet type apparently. I think I can understand if a co-worker had an accident, but not that he/she would just leave it and not try to clean it up.

The only thing worse than actually pooping your pants at work is getting caught cleaning the scene up.

Passer by: Hey Mark ... what you doing down there with all that Kleenex?
Mark: Yeah ... well ... funny thing. Are you familiar with that old rhyme "here I sit, broken hearted?" ...

Perhaps this person had every intention of cleaning it up but it was already done for them on return? It also seems convenient that the office janitor had a fast response on who it might have been ... hmmmm?

Ewww. Did you start a betting pool on who you think might be the culprit?
