Just a quick recap before I go to bed...
  • Friday Night -- dinner and the movie Click with the fellas. It was an okay movie, I really liked seeing Kate Beckinsale in a role outside the Underworld series.
  • Slept all day Saturday... and I mean all day. I was asleep more hours than I was awake. I think work has drained me significantly this past week.
  • Had lunch at Chipotle with a 411 chat buddy today on his way from Michigan to West Virginia. It was good to meet him in person.
  • Spent the evening watching some of horror DVD's I've bought through Amazon. I watched Happy Birthday to Me, a 1983 horror flick starring Melissa Sue Anderson from "Little House on the Prairie." She's a far greater actress than people give her credit for, and the movie wasn't so bad either. A nice twist awaits you in the ending.
  • I wish the fireworks would end. It's 11 PM or so and they are still booming in the distance. I feel like I'm in World War II London and there is no naked Bob Hoskins at the Windmill Theater for me to look at. And it's freaking Murphy the cat out. He's hiding in the bathroom. It's hard to go to the toilet when he's hunkered down right in front of it and reluctant to move.
  • I have to work tomorrow.. ugh...

LOL.. well.. it's a long-ish story.

I was watching a "where are they now" sort of thing on VH1 or TVLand and they had a brief profile of Melissa Sue Anderson, who had talked about her role in Happy Birthday to Me and how it broke her nice girl role a bit. I had forgotten about the movie and only remembered bits and pieces of it (like the guy lifting weights and getting a weight dropped on his crotch and the guy with the long scarf getting caught up in the running motorcycle wheel!)

Last month I got a gift certificate to Amazon.com and looked up the movie on a lark and found it new in the Amazon Marketplace for less than $6, which was a price that couldn't be passed up. It made a great addition to the 1970's and 80's horror movie collection.

I'd forgotten how truly creepy the movie was for it's time. :)
