Date: 2006-03-08 07:32 pm (UTC)your take on the the straight/gay issue of nature vs nurture, considering your particular circumstances.
I recall an Oprah episode on identical twins....one straight, one gay. I didn't actually see it. just an advertisement for it.

In the case of identical twins, where one twin is gay and one is not seems to be evidence that it is not entirely genetic or else both would have the same orientation. I personally think that it is a genetic disposition for a person to be gay and that some environmental factors during development makes the gay orientation dominant. I do not think that a persons orientation can be changed by counseling or any other mumbo-jumbo. Obviously, it's open for debate.

Date: 2006-03-09 01:30 am (UTC)I recently read an article that suggests that the genetic inclination to be gay may be related to a series of genes that may or may not be activated on the X chromosome of a gay man. Since the X chromosome comes from the mother, psychologists can have a field day as we may be able to blame Mom for everything. :D
