After being a member of Gold's Gym for the last four years, I have noticed something ironic about members parking in the gym parking lot. Today, I saw a couple of guys in the car drive around the parking lot to park in a space that was three spaces closer than the one they had passed on the first go around.

I find it funny that someone is not willing to walk an extra 20 feet to the gym where he or she will run on a treadmill for a half-hour.

... and today's guys aren't the first I've seen do this....

That is soooo common, and not at the gym either!

Well, at other places, I can see it I guess, but the gym should be different I would think. Why not walk the extra distance seeing how you're going to work out anyway?

It definitely is most ironic at the gym, but I argue the same point for the grocery store or at the mall. Unless you're one of those people that rides around in a motorized cart...lol.

I think it's more of a "conquer" thing. I got the best space! Testosterone and all that. Er...so I'm told.

Hmmm... you may be right, but it seems like everyone does it.

Like the people at the mall where I always find myself getting in the first by parking in the first space I see rather than circling for the closest space....

Imagine all the time you save... and the gasoline :)

I see this all the time. The biggest bruisers always look for the closest spot to park their huge truck. Personally I always park waaaaaay in the back of the lot.

Well, I admit that I'll take a close spot if I see it, but I'll not drive around looking for one.

I'm too impatient to even bother looking up front for a spot. I just tend to pull in and grab the first one available (hmmm, we are still talking about parking spots right ;)

LOL Oops, I tend to forget that inside jokes are only funny to those who were originally involved :P

I used to have a friend that we joked about pulling into the bar, picking the first guy he saw and “taking” him. He was never there more than five minutes. My little comment about doing the same with a parking spot reminded me of that… but, would have been much funnier had you actually known what the hell I was laughing at.
