Thanksgiving Visit -- Day Two
Nov. 22nd, 2005 11:11 amIt's official, the twin's internet is screwed up. I'm going through serious withdrawal. I guess I never realized how ingrained it was in my daily routine.
I'm back at the library for a limited time. I swear the same people that were here last night using the internet are still here. Even the librarian has made comment about it to me. I was hoping that getting here early would put me on the internet solo with the kids still in school. Sadly.. no...
Sitting next to me is David, an overweight, unemployed, early 20-something guy listening to Madonna and Destiny's Child on his headset so loud I can hear it, who has already commented favorably on my sweatshirt and my backpack and telling me how he's responding to someone on his Yahoo Personals account. I think he's trying to pick me up. He has BO! He's jiggling and dancing in his seat.. badly. Backing away slowly....
Update: Okay, so it turns out that David is gay and he turned to me to ask me if I was. I told him yes. David then proceeds to tell me that Corbin needs more gay people, as people are too closed minded here. Well, duh! He then lets me know that he's 23 and hasn't had his first date yet. He asks me why I look so familiar. I tell him that I'm from here, but haven't lived here in 15 or so years.
I finished up and said good-bye to him (I was polite, I swear). I snuck to another part of the library to fill this out and get away from him. While I feel sorry for any gay man stuck here in this town, I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable with this guy. Ewwwww.... :(
