Nick Frost and Simon Pegg in Hot FuzzAfter work today, I decided to head for a matinee of
Hot Fuzz. I've been waiting for quite a while for this movie to come out as it was released in Britain two months ago and had gotten great reviews. I'm also a big
Shaun of the Dead fan and knew I would enjoy this one too.
Simon Pegg stars as Sgt. Angel who is the best police officer the London police service has, doing 400% better than his co-workers, making them look bad in comparison. The higher-ups transfer him from the rough streets of London to a countryside village with no crime. He is frustrated with the move and bored with the work until a series of murders disguised as accidents begin to occur. He solely sees them for what they are as the local constabulary can't fathom the deaths are more than accidents. Finally, there are some neat twists revealing the killer and some nice action (and funny) scenes at the end.
I enjoyed the movie a lot and the theater wasn't crowded, the latter of which may be due to matinee timing or the fact it's a British import. I'm not sure, but I agree with
prisonbitch that it was a lot of fun.
Did I enjoy the movie? Very much.
Would I see it again? I just might this weekend.
Buy the DVD? Oh yeah :)
