Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day
Mar. 18th, 2006 03:46 amAfter work, I drove up to Indianapolis to visit one of my chat buddies who was in town for a conference. I went to see a movie at the local mall while he went into a conference meeting. We met afterward for dinner, eating at the Ram Restaurant and Brewery. The food was okay, but the company was great. Joe is a nice short, stocky daddy bear and one heck of a sweet guy.
Downtown Indy is actually rather impressive. It seems well laid out, has a slew of really good restaurants and activities in a short compact area, and the city itself seems to be very clean. I wish Cincinnati had this kind of downtown life at night.
Joe and I parted company around 11 PM as he had meetings the next day and I had a 2 1/2 hour car ride ahead of me. On the way I started getting very drowsy, so I pulled off to a rest area and caught a 30 minute cat nap. It's amazing that a brief snooze can revitalize me so much.
When I got back to Northern KY, I decided this early in the morning would be a great time to get my grocery shopping done (i.e. there was no food in the house). I'm going to have to go gorcery shopping in the middle of the night more often, no annoying customers in my way. So now it's 4 AM and I need to get to bed... and since my folks canceled their visit this weekend (again), I'm totally free...
