Several things happened today, far too long to post without cuts....

Goodbye Julia Child

I was actually saddened by her passing as Julia Child was an amazing woman. Other than her culinary ability, her past is remarkably adventurous. She was a college graduate in a day when most women were happy to just get married and stay home. She worked for the US government during World War II, dealing with top secret information. All of this before she ever became a professional chef and TV cooking diva. She had an incredible life, we should all be so lucky to experience such things.

Inadvertantly outed myself to a co-worker

It's amazing what the mouth will say before the brain has a chance to filter you. I walked up to my friend "Alex," whom I mentioned in a post months ago, the former roller-derby queen and political demonstrator. She had gastrointestinal bypass surgery to lose weight. After which, she joined a support group, which has an online discussion board somewhere. Well, I noticed that she was reading an entry from a couple of guys I chat with on occasion on Bear411. Immediately, I blurt out, "hey, I know those guys!" Alex explains that they are fun and in her group. She talks how they are such a great couple. She says she'll say hi for me during their next meeting. Whoops! Well, instead of having either one out me to her accidently, I explained how I know them. She wasn't shocked at all. She says she suspected my alternative lifestyle and was totally fine with. Not a surprise as she's an ultra-cool chick! She retires next month.. I'm gonna miss her.

The Princess Diaries 2

I left work a little early today, I couldn't get much else done today after yesterday's events. So, I made it to the movies to satisfy the kid in me. Princess Diaries 2 was a good movie, surrounded by lots of small children who behaved themselves for the most part. I was actually impressed. The movie has some nice funny parts, some typical Disney romance, and Julie Andrews actually singing again. It relates to the little girl side of my personality....

Oh hush, you bitches! ;)

I'd see Princess Diaries 2, but I don't know that I could stand being in the theatre with all the kiddies, without one in tow myself. *g* That'll be queued up on my cable when it shows up there instead.

Wait a couple of weeks, it'll die down, I'm sure.

They should have a kid rental station.. little robotic children that allow you to look like everyone else.

For the little kid in me, I've been dying to see Thunderbirds. But no one wants to see it with me. I have a couple of friends that said I could take their kids because they themselves sure as hell don't want to see it!

i have some (gay) neighbors that just adopted their 8th black baby. They're looking for a larger house, planning on adopting more, I think.
