It's been a while since I've given an update on Milo the Cat (TM).

Milo Sleeping
Sleeping Milo

Basically, he's doing well. He's settled into a routine from what I can tell. When I adopted him, the shelter estimated his age to be "around" two years old. Given his behavior and his size, I believe that he is actually closer to a year old.

He has very kitten-like attributes. He's very playful, incredibly vocal, and amazingly affectionate. When he's in my lap, he falls asleep quickly. He trusts me and that makes me feel really good.

His very sweet and innately trusting personality makes me wonder what his previous owner was like. It's clear that he was socialized in a home, I think. He was healthy, with a nice coat, and a full tummy when I got him. He was also intact when I adopted him. The shelter said he was a stray, but I can't help but wonder if he belonged to someone who let him out and he got rounded up by animal control. Worse, maybe he was "set out" by a family who didn't want him any longer.

I can't fathom that last bit as he seems to be a perfect pet. Someone's loss was definitely my gain.

Do you think you'd get another kitty to keep Milo company?

I have been thinking about it. I'll probably get a cat his age or younger to keep him company in a month or so, when things calm down work-wise and I can devote more time to blending him/her in.

I'm glad that he's settled in and become yours.

He definitely has accepted this as "home."

I'm envious.

Milo looks so much like Noah who disappeared last Thanksgiving. Seeing how peaceful he looks in your lap makes me think it's about time for us to get another cat. Once we've moved to the new house this fall, I think we will.

I'm sorry that you're missing your Noah.

And once you get settled, getting a cat sounds like a grand idea to me.

Adorable photo!

Few things in life can match having a sleeping cat in your lap. :)

What I like best is when he rest his head on my tummy, or when he cradles himself in my arm. He really is a baby. :)

Aww, what a sweet little kittling! Nico cuddles up in my arm when I'm sitting on the couch, and it's super sweet. (Until he gets too warm or my arm gets cramped...)

yay for happy Milo. I saw a pair of kitten brothers the other day that were sooooooooo hard not to adopt but Bob would have killed me LOL I don't know why I'm so stuck on getting two cats. It just was so nice with Max and Sophie knowing they were litter mates and truly brother and sister. But while Sophie is still around, getting another pair to make three may get me a divorce LOL

Three cats could be a lot. Do you feel that Sophie needs company?

yeah... 3 cats is pushing it. But, for some reason I love having littermates. It worked so well for Sophie and Max, who loved each others company, you know, except for when they didn't LOL Plus, I loved having a matched set of two. Max and Sophie looked almost exactly alike, there was just something that felt neat about that.

I'd like Sophie to have some company, especially if we are gone a couple of days over a weekend. Though, I have to say, she seems happy as a clam alone right now. She's super needy as far as attention goes but as long as I'm giving it to her, lots and lots of it, she seems to be just fine.

I'm so glad he's settled in so well after that difficult first bit. His coloring reminds me of one of the cats I had as a youth, one who liked to purr in my ear and groom my beard for me. ;)

Milo likes to beard nuzzle me and it's probably one of the most adorable things I've ever had a cat do. None of my past cats were so affectionate.

I am happy to hear this. Last time I remember, he was still hiding a bit.

I'm thankful he's not hiding any more. Just when I chase him but he seems to love that.
