It's been... one week!
May. 31st, 2004 03:30 pmOkay, I'm off today. It feels so good to have a day off. I went to the gym. Before I got hot and sweaty, I weighed myself. I was stunned. I started this diet last week and weighed 235 lbs, the scale had me at 226 lbs this morning. I'm shocked. I realize most of it is likely water loss, but still, it seems like a dramatic decrease. I'm only hoping that someone hasn't messed with the scale.
I did some upper body weight lifting and 30 minutes of cardio. A friend, who is also an instructor at the gym, stopped by and asked why I hadn't been in Body Pump, the group weight-lifting class. Honestly, they're too late for me. I get off work at 4 PM usually, and the earliest class is nearly 6 PM. I'm not one for sitting around for an hour waiting for it to start. I may make an effort to get to Wednesday's class. Oh, and it was nice to see some cute and furry muscle types working out today.
On the way home, I rented Girls Will Be Girls, based on
irishbeard's post. It is very funny and the guys in the female roles do an incredible job. Bitchy and kitschy. The lead is Evie, a has-been actress. My favorite line? When told about how she ran drunkenly over a family of four with her car, she replies, "It was a family of six. I only killed four." Dark comedy people, chuckle, chuckle.
