Last night was a bore, everything was closed, but the trip looked up considerably today.

The firm I'm working with this week is actually knowledgable about device regulations. I'm impressed. Things are going well and I may actually get out of there early if things continue as they are. From the bear perspective, this place is full of young, furry cub types. The country is crawling with them. Oh the eye candy. Short muscular crews with hair peeking out of the top of their shirts, most of them having a mustache at least. I'm working with a particularly nice looking bear type. Speaks a little English, but has the rugged look that drives 'em wild. Yummy!!! He's nice to work with, and not for the eye candy factor either.

Lunch was incredible. The firm has been taking me out for lunch, mostly because I'm the clueless American who hasn't any idea where things are. I went with the company president to a little restaurant that is one of his favorites. Had a tasty appetizer of small onions cooked with balsamic vinegar that were out of this world. They almost melted in your mouth, despite the way they sound. The next "course" was fetticini with a cream glaze that was completely vegetarian. Again, it was delicious. The next round was a small cooked steak with a spicy, salty gravy --- awesome. I could eat this recipe for days and never tire of it. Ended the lunch with terramassue (slaughtered spelling, I know) that had to have 3,000 calories a serving (translation: heavenly). I'm even developing a taste for the naturally carbonated water they drink about these parts. He even paid for it, to write it off as a business expense. Be my guest, I say.

I never thought I would spend my entire journal writing about food, but real Italian cuisine deserves it. Oh, if only it could be put into words. Well, despite my upbeat mood, I need to buckle down and get to work. I'm going to be report writing for the next few nights, so only a little nightlife. Got to change hotels tomorrow because of all the festivities coming this way, so I have no idea if and when I'll have another entry before I get home. Let's hope the next hotel has an internet connection in the rooms.
