Just odds and ends over the weekend:

  • I slept a lot. I think the emotional roller-coaster I dealt with at work last week took a toll on me. I'm ready to tackle the week. I believe that things are on the mend at the office.

  • On Saturday, I went to see "The Conjuring". I thought it was a pretty good movie, great acting with a very nice plot. It wasn't as scary as I expected, but I think the previews telegraphed some of the tenser moments so I was ready for them. I jumped a couple of times. The movie had very little blood and no nudity, so the R-rating is a mystery. I'd see it again.

  • I ran 3.2 miles on Sunday morning. Perfect weather, horrible run time, but I managed to finish. It is possible, I can do it.

  • I started drawing issue #12 of "Grizzly & The Bear Patrol" last night. So far, I'm five pages into the issue. Lots of hot male nudity superhero action to be included.

  • The search for the replacement hubcap is over. I spent a bit of the weekend searching for the hubcap for my car with no luck. I find it hard to believe that people are not wrecking Toyota Corollas so the parts aren't available. I finally ordered it online for a lot more than I think it's worth, but at least my car won't look so hillbilly anymore.

Happy Monday... yah...

I enjoyed the Conjuring, largely because it wasn't a slasher/bloody/sex pic like so many of the current horror movies. It was suspenseful and totally agree that the acting shined in it. It really reminded me of how much the horror genre has changed in the last 40 years. Horror movies now really are almost all torture porn blood and gore, it's pretty sick when you think about it LOL

I admire a horror movie that puts a little thought into the plot, which is one of the reasons I liked it. I will probably go see it again on a matinee to find all the things I may have missed.

Atmospheric horror flicks are so rare these days, maybe it's why I love some of the horror movies from the 1970's. They didn't have a lot of the big special effects, so they had to make them scary and suspenseful to compensate.
