A Superfriends Find

So before I went to softball yesterday, I decided to stop at Target and look for a DVD set I saw online. They released "The World's Greatest SuperFriends" on DVD. Amazon has it listed for $34, but you can get it at Target for $10, not sure what is going on there.

I have always loved the Super-Friends. It was my first exposure to DC superheroes as a kid, even before comic books. As a little kid, I even liked the first season with Marvin, Wendy, and Wonder Dog, although as an adult I cringe at how bad they are. It seemed like the writing and animation improved significantly with the addition of the Wonder Twins, even though I know Gleek rubs people the wrong way.

This "World's Greatest..." season was one of my favorites. These episodes are darker in some ways with demonic villains, an evil Superman with thick mascara, and even Frankenstein's monster. One of the scariest things on the DVD may actually be Gleek performing in harem drag.

I loved the Wonder Twins!

When properly used, they were powerful, like when Jana turned into a giant eagle, and Zan turned into an ice missle!

Man, I wish I had super powers.......!

I think that was one of the Wondertwins biggest appealing factors was that they had powers. Marvin and Wendy were just lame teenagers, and face it, the Super Friends would never really let them do anything because they could get hurt.

Near as I can tell after a few minutes of searching, it's a Target exclusive item. The store that has it listed on Amazon is buying them from Target for $10, and selling them through Amazon for $34. I don't see it available from the places that we buy movies and music from.

Yup. Confirmed. Well, as much as wikipedia is a confirmation of anything.
