Pride Shirt 2013

I had a great time with my sister and her family visiting. I thought they'd stay through the weekend, but they had to go back early as my nephew had to work. The joys of getting that first job as a teenager. Wednesday night, my sister and brother-in-law went to the local casino and my nephew and I went to the movies. We caught a late showing of "World War Z" in 3D and it was packed!

After they left Thursday morning, I got to work on coloring my Pride shirt design. I wanted it to go on a purple shirt, so I used a dark tee-shirt transfer which works a bit differently than the ones I used before. The original colors I used were fun, but once I printed out the transfer, I realized how dark the bottom was going to be on the purple shirt and it just didn't look right.

So I did a recolor of the border around the edge to lighten things up. I have to remember to keep things lighter for the darker shirts. This being my first try, I was not thinking. I kept both designs just in case I wanted to do a lighter shirt sometime.



So here's the end result. I liked how it turned out. I need to take a look at what time the Pride events are going to start this weekend. I read that Sharon Needles is appearing at one of the local drag shows, so I might pop in to see her. The parade is tomorrow, but the softball league doesn't seem to be marching this year (at least no one has mentioned it).

And as suggested by champdaddy, I also did a coloring of the Pride toon using red, white & blue for Independence Day. I have to admit, that it looks pretty good this way. I may have to put together another tee-shirt.
