Getting Back My Groove

At least in the workout arena.
Since my health issues in February, I've been fighting to get myself back into a workout routine. It's not easy to re-establish a habit like that, especially when my stamina isn't back to normal yet. The one, however, will help the other.
Yesterday, after work I changed and went to the local park to see how many laps I could do. It's a 0.4 mile running/walking trail around the park. Before all the issues started, I was up to a routine four miles, with the occasional six miles when the mood hit. The sun was out (mostly) and the temps were good, so my goal was to do a 5K, or 3.2 miles.
I struggled a bit, but managed to finish. As I was walking around to cool off, I got my iPhone out to take a grainy post-run photo or two. They're behind the cut.

As the warm weather keeps up, I'm hoping to rebuild my stamina to get ready for a 5K in July.
Happy Thursday!

Date: 2013-05-09 02:13 pm (UTC)The one thing they keep coming back to is my trans-Atlantic flight from Scotland in mid December. They always warn that on a long flight, you should get up and stretch and get your circulation moving, which I didn't do as I was watching movies the whole time.
The doctors don't think that was the cause because it was so long before the hospitalization, but I suspect they are wrong. I was having leg pain three weeks (or more) before I went to the ER, thinking it was a pulled muscle. So the clots could have started much closer to the flight in question.
The exact cause, however, is still up in the air.
