Printing the Comic and Presidential Stuff

I admit I didn't watch the election on TV last night. I just don't want the hoopla, the analysis, etc. That doesn't interest me. I voted and prayed for the outcome I wanted.
So while TV was rampant with analysis and still flustered with those stupid ads (on both sides I admit), I drove out to Kinko's to get issue #9 printed. The same young (but graying) skinny cubby was running the place. He never engages in conversation, always professional, even though there is an air of edginess to him. He's been there the last three or four times I've printed either my comic or my Christmas cards, both of which scream "GAY!" if you even casually look at them. He's never flinched, which I find funny. It also makes me wonder what all he has seen and maybe mine is tame in comparison.
He handed me the pages for review and it always thrills me because the colors just pop. Seeing it on a screen is one thing, holding it in my hands is different. I did notice that the yellows I used have a greenish tint to them, so that's something I need to work on next time, but overall I was pleased with the final product.
So while I put the pages in sleeves with opposing original artwork, I watched Comedy Central, while flipping back to CNN to catch the numbers then back to Comedy Central or another cable channel.
Kentucky went Republican. Not a shock, but always a disappointment.
I got up around 2:30 AM to go to the bathroom and turned on the TV for a moment to see that Obama won. I was happy to see that and admittedly a bit relieved. While I knew he snagged Ohio, there was never any guarantees.
After more sleep, I got up and ready for work. Driving through my heavily Republican neighborhood (yeah, I should move), I drove through what I've been calling "Idiot's Alley," a stretch of road where there were Romney/Ryan signs in nearly every yard, including one belonging to a particular daddy bear of a idiot who made his own homemade yard sign. He would take it in at night, then back out the next morning. He also had the normal sign in his yard too. As I drove through Idiot's Alley this morning, I noticed that both signs are gone. I wonder if he took them both in last night because it was night time or because he lost.
It's a bright new day. Happy hump day!! :)

Date: 2012-11-08 11:55 am (UTC)When I get a copy printed at Kinko's, it usually runs me $15-18 depending on the number of pages. I'm up to issue 9 now, which would mean that a printed copy of the set so far would run about $180 for someone.
I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives, but I haven't run across them yet.
