Green Shirt Thursday and Mr. Party-Pooper

I was chatting online before work this morning with the ever handsome sunbeam_bears, who remarked "Green Shirt Thursday?"

As a known creature of habit, I was wearing green already.

So after a busy morning, I went out for lunch by myself. My office is having an Oktoberfest cook-out/fundraiser thing. As I was strolling back into work, carrying my Chipotle drink cup, a coworker kidded me for being a "party-pooper."

While the celebration would be fun, the meal was a choice of brats or veggie burgers, neither of which sounded appealing. There was also potato salad and desserts. Granted it was only $5, but when it's food you don't want, it feels like wasted money. I mean, potato salad... who thought up to mix cold potatoes, eggs, and mayonnaise?? Ick.

I'll celebrate the old fashioned way, with a beer, sometime later this week.

well, yuck to that potato salad :P milk, mayo and potato, who thought of that? It should be potato, mayo, pickle, mustard, salt, pepper, onion, and hard boiled egg. :)

Even better -- BAKE that potato, add some cheese, salt, pepper, and bacon and leave the rest of the cold $#!+ in the fridge :D

Your co-worker's comment of you being a "party-pooper" was mis-applied. As I understand it, a party-pooper ATTENDS the said party, and by mood and actions negatively influences those around him. You may be accused of being anti-social in this instance, but not a "Debbie Downer".

Myself, I'm a sucker for brats and 'tater salad. While you treat your body like a temple, mine is more of a flop house.
