My Five Day Weekend
Sep. 4th, 2012 08:23 amDespite some dreary weather, I had a pretty good weekend recovering from the prior week.
- My buddy
aceofspace drove down Thursday night to stay a couple of nights on his way to our hometown. It's always good to hang out. We drove out to an aviation store called "Sporty's" so he could buy some stuff (he has his pilot's license) and watched some movies at my house, including Drive Angry, which I think is highly-underrated as entertaining schlock.
- While at Sporty's, I got a bit irritated at the young sales clerk. For just buying a tee-shirt, she wanted my address. I tried to explain to her that I was not in the aviation world and wouldn't use her catalog or fliers for anything but recycling, but she just looked at me confused. It was like she didn't know what to do if she didn't punch in that info. An older clerk said she'd fix it so I wouldn't get mailings, but then the young lady asked for my phone number and I balked. And to top it off, the XL tee-shirt I wanted turned out to be a 2XL. She pulled the wrong one. Ugh. A little time at high heat in the dryer fixed that at least.
- After
aceofspace left, I cruised a bookstore and found this photo of a disco-party kitty on the back of a puzzle box. It made me smile a lot.
- I saw The Possession on Sunday. It stars my future husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a father who inadvertently buys a cursed ornate box for his daughter. She becomes possessed by the demon inside and he must save her. Not the most original movie, but I liked it. While Morgan doesn't go shirtless, he does raise his shirt and expose his furry tummy for a few seconds. I melted.
- Besides catching up on my sleep, a very large chunk of the weekend was spent working on issue #8 of my comic. I colored until the wee morning hours and got the whole thing finished, except for the cover, which I still need to draw. Hopefully the issue will be out later this week. Here is a teaser page, which gives no spoilers.

Look! A background! :D

Date: 2012-09-05 09:13 am (UTC)What celebrities do you find attractive? :)
Celebrities whom I find attractive.
Date: 2012-09-06 02:53 pm (UTC)I'm not one of those gay men who will find a celebrity or political figure attractive once I find out that they're a BIG asshole.
With THAT said, I still find John Goodman attractive. He's struggled with alcohol addiction, but seems to have licked it.
Loved him in Roseanne.
Gay director/actor Frank Galati. An attractive man of 68 with a beard and long hair, he was nominated for an academy award for his screenplay of " The Accidental Tourist."
Orson Welles. A BIG man with much talent who never went as far as he might have, due to trouble raising enough money for all his projects. I drew a portrait of him years ago; it is on the wall above my computer, where it has been for over a decade.
Sebastion Cabot. He played "Mr. French" in that 60's tv show, " Family Affair." An attractive heavyset British man with a lovely voice.
Melvyn Douglas. Actor from the 30's, 40's, etc. He had a great supporting role in "Mr. Blanding's Dream Home", starring Myrna Loy
and Cary Grant.
Jon Lord, of Deep Purple. He played piano, organ, etc. He died just recently of cancer at age 71. A very talented musician.
M. Emmet Walsh. Character actor, appeared in many supporting roles, including "Blade Runner."
Will Geer. Played "Grampa Walton."
A very attractive free spirit and radical.
Was bisexual and had a relationship with fellow Mattacine Party member Harry Hay.
Dallas McKennon. Character & voice actor.
Voiced many cartoon characters. Died a few years ago at age 89. Nobody had a bad word to say of him. He was a sweet, generous, kind man.
That's a few of them, probably the ones I am most attracted to as people and as men.
Re: Celebrities whom I find attractive.
Date: 2012-09-06 11:04 pm (UTC)Sebastian Cabot -- such a beautiful, dark-haired bear of a man. And that accent could make me melt.
Will Geer -- I've been catching reruns of the Waltons on TV lately and I just adore him. I found out through my internet rummaging that he was bisexual, which just magnified his attractiveness. :)
