Drawing and Stuff

After work and yesterday's chest and back workout, I was beat. I really didn't feel like doing much, but I trudged along to get my shirt ironed for today and finally crashed on my couch to eat dinner and watch a movie.

I watched I Love You, Phillip Morris based on a co-worker's recommendation. Normally I'm not a Jim Carrey fan, but I admit that he was very fun in this movie. The movie about a gay con man who breaks out of jail repeatedly for love was very cute, and Ewan McGregor was adorable as well. It was a good recommendation, especially coming from a straight guy who obviously enjoys a good gay movie.

So during the movie and "RuPaul's Drag U," I worked a bit on the sketches for Issue #8 of "Grizzly & The Bear Batrol" and did the following toon as a lark. Even superheroes need to do laundry:

What a fun drawing. I especially like the sock on the floor. I'm always dropping a sock (or leaving one in the washer or dryer) so when I go to fold the laundry, I have to search for the missing sock.

I'm usually not critical of your drawing, primarily because I know my stuff barely ranks above Kindergarten grade, but I gotta say something about this one.

While Grizz's look is as sexy as ever, the pose, especially the lower body and legs are stiff and unnatural. Maybe he needs a bit more flex in right thigh; his left leg seems just a tad short, and might look a bit less awkward if his heel were on the ground, rather than have his foot just hanging in mid-air (It also leads to expecting a banana peel to appear under his foot). This would lead to his body shifting forward, lending more implied motion to the pose.

You know I love your work, and am even a tad envious of your talent. I've submitted the above suggestions to make your good are even better.
