Another typical weekend here in the hometown area. My sister hosted one of those housewares parties for a friend and my mom attended, so I didn't see much of them today. My twin bought a Game Cube yesterday, so he and the brother-in-law are playing a Tiger Woods golf game.. so dull.


I did make it to the Falls to get a few shots. The water was much clearer than I thought it would be, but the wind was so blasted cold it was hard to take pictures. I'll be heading back down there in the Spring to see it hopefully in all it's glory.

I did discover something a bit disturbing to me. It seems my twin and one of his buddies was going to head to Cincinnati to go to the gambling boats in Indiana. When I asked if he was planning on stopping by my house to stay the night, he said no. This has started to bug me, that he comes all the way up to my neck of the woods and doesn't stop by, when he used to before. I hate to think it, but this change in behavior started after my coming out to him. I think he's afraid his friends will discover I'm gay if they stay the night at my house. Not a problem, as #1, most of his friends are butt ugly, and #2, they've stayed there before and never realized it, so why would this be any different. I guess he's not coming as far as I originally thought.

Tomorrow, the long drive home.

Maybe you should have a talk with your brother, tell him you wish he'd visit like he used to.

Not sure about that. It's not that I'm begging him to stop by the house, but rather that I believe that he feels that he cannot anymore. My coming out is still pretty recent, I'm hoping he'll grow up eventually.

That's why I suggested you ask him to visit more. That would lead into a conversation about why he doesn't.

But it's true it can take family members a bit of time to get used to someone coming out.
