Having a day off is SOOOOO nice! No rushing to get somewhere, no phone calls and meetings, no worries, etc. I definitely love them, but then who doesn't?

I left home at 8 AM and picked up a bagel from Panera only to find that Channel 19 here was doing a story on the place. I got some background camera time as they panned the crowd standing in line. I'm wondering if the camera does add 10 lbs ... or maybe it's the bagels.

Anyway, I went down the interstate heading for the hometown and stopped at Berea College, my alma mater, to see a few folks. At the library where I worked, I ran into Janie, one of the reference librarians, who always asks if I have found that special lady yet. The answer, obviously, is no, but this time she asked if there was anyone special and used very gender neutral pronouns and words. I think my old boss there may have outed me to the staff during a coffee break. Not a problem, saves me the trouble, and Janie is still curious about my love life. She's so sweet.

After spending a couple of hours on campus, I headed to see Mom. She and I played a board game called "Sequences" that is currently the rave with her friends. My family has always been notorious board game players. Six games later, I left for my sister's house. We watched a good movie and I got to play with my nephew and his pregnant pet cat. I lectured my sister again on the need to have this little cat fixed. I may have to get her a gift certificate to the local vet.

I then went to my brother's house where I'm staying. The poor boy is in denial as he asked me if I had seen the latest bodacious babe on the cover of this month's "Maxim." It's slowly sinking in to him, I think. So I flipped through, saw an awesome lady in leather and read the joke page. The only bone involved is the funny bone. He took off to play video games with my brother-in-law, so I'm home alone again. The good news is that the twin finally got high speed internet!!!! It's about time!

Only negative is that it's raining, so the Falls will look like chocolate milk with all the muddy run-off spilling into the river. So I don't see any new pictures being taken of it this trip. Maybe this summer will be better.
