The Vacation is Over ...

... darn it...

While most folks wouldn't consider what I had a vacation, it was time to get back to the grind of the office. I admit that toward the end of the week, I started wondering what was sitting on my desk awaiting my attention.

While I didn't get everything I wanted done on my "staycation" project list, I did manage quite a few and it's bolstered my confidence in fixing things around the house. The fact I changed the outdoor light fixtures without burning down the house or giving myself a Frankenstein-ian perm is a triumph I'll feel for some time.

I did get my haircut earlier this week. I saw this product on the shelf and had to snap a photo (left). Given the product's name, you'd think someone might have thought to reconsider the container shape. Then, maybe their minds aren't as dirty as mine.

Saturday was a treat, heading out to the somewhat-monthly game night at my friends Matt and Bill's house. The best game I thought was a card game called "Fluxx", where the rules and goals change as the hands are played. It takes only a few minutes to learn it, but the end result is fun. I won twice and even got to sit next to a really cute guy I've known for a while, but only recently found out was "family." And even cincycub won a round of the game (go Brian!) :D

So back to work here... the only thing I'm going to really miss from being off is the sleep. I am a champion napper. I learned very well from the two misfit kitties in the house apparently.

We love Fluxx. When we play it at my family reunion with my younger cousins, though, we add a new rule: no more than four rules on the table at any one time. If you play a new rule, you can take up an oldone. Makes it a little simpler for kids to play.

There are also blank cards available, so you can make your own "Dirty Fluxx" or whatever.
