New and Old Computers

Yesterday after my work out I came home to find my old Power Mac G4 tower needing to be reset. Once I tried to reset it, nothing happened.

Ugh, I thought. So I tried the odds and ends and nothing seemed to work. I came to the conclusion after a quick plea of help to aceofspace that the computer was done for. My only concern was the most recent cartoons and stuff being lost.

A quick trip to the Apple Store and some help from a cute, geeky daddy bear type, and I walked out with a new Mac Mini and some guidance from the Genius Bar on how to recover the data from my old computer. It took quite a bit of doing to get it to download anything and it stalled early through. I did manage to download the cover to "Grizzly and the Bear Patrol" #3. I only had the low resolution I posted on here and really wasn't looking forward to recoloring the original drawing. I still have several iTunes songs to get back and many downloads left to recover if I can get the old computer to cooperate again.

Oh, I wish I were off today...

Sounds good.
All I can suggest is that you consider buying an external storage device and back-up with Time Machine on a regular basis. Time Machine has saved my butt on several occasions since buying my external drive when I had a huge system crash last August.

I actually have an external storage device, but I had to do the back up manually, so I'm missing a few weeks of new stuff. Luckily, I've managed to get most of it. I'm going to use the Time Machine function from here on out. :)
