kybearfuzz: (Cartoon Mark)

I haven't done much drawing over the last couple of weeks. No reason other than work has kept me pretty busy. I would describe it as being on a roller coaster ride with no hills or valleys, just straight ahead and high speed. I did manage to draw one cartoon and colored it over the weekend. I'm finding more of cartoons seem to be involving men in kilts. I note [livejournal.com profile] madknits (top row, center) and his weekly kilties as influence. I've even considered buying a kilt myself. I've accumulated the kilt drawings of late below. The newest is first, with a kilted warrior asking for a godly boon.

Can you draw me as a shaman? :)

You mean like an Indian shaman? I'd have to research what that would look like, but I'm willing to give it a go.

I was thinking Siberian, but I since shamanism appears in some form in many tribal cultures, any would be fine. The Siberian shamans have more of a dark, ominous appearance.

Here's a couple of images I found:

Would you want to appear dark and ominous in the cartoon, or something more pensive and magical?

Dark and ominous would be a nice change of pace for me LOL. You don't really have to do this, I was half-joking. But if you're inspired and want to give it a shot then go with whatever you like stylistically.

If you get a kilt, I reserve the right to stick my head underneath to make sure you're wearing it properly...

I'll be sure not to wear the old man underwear then.

I'm glad you explained your newest drawing. At first, I thought the god-figure was tripping over the handle of the warrior's battle-axe, but the body language was wrong; then, I noticed the god-figure was levitating ever-so-slightly off the ground.

As usual, your drawings are awesome!

Thanks! I noticed he wasn't "floating" high enough really, but it was already done and inked. Oh well, lesson learned.
