A Bitchie Valentine 2010

For new folks to my journal, I have a cartoon character I draw called Bitchie Ann McSourpuss, my goth-dressed spinster alter-ego. She's the punisher of bad dates, the queen of romantic sarcasm, and the antagonist of Valentine's Day.

I'd not done a Bitchie Ann cartoon for a while, but while I was out doing shopping stuff this afternoon, I was getting a bit turned off with the flood of the Valentine's Day junk that is everywhere. This is the perfect fuel for a Bitchie Ann toon.

I had a couple of false starts when it came to the cartoon. The first was a gun-toting Bitchie Anne with a cupid in her sights. The next was Bitchie with a fly strip holding several cupids. Neither seemed to work, so I decided to tackle one of my favorites -- candy!

Of most of them, I admit that last year's toon has been my favorite so far.

I don't buy into all of the commercialism of Valentines Day ... but, I do believe in celebrating those we love. Having said that, if there was a Bitchie-Ann line of cards, I know I'd be buying:)
