Sebastian CabotOver the weekend, I accumulated a lot of movies, including two DVD box sets of the Three Stooges and the first season of "The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew" (shut up, I was feeling nostalgic and they were on sale...)

One of the movies I bought was "Twice-Told Tales," a 1963 horror anthology staring Vincent Price. The first story was called "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment" about two aged men who discover a fountain of youth in an old crypt where the doctor's former betrothed was buried. This segment stars Sebastian Cabot as the doctor. Of course, like any horror story, it ends badly for all parties involved.

Sebastian CabotI remember Cabot from his days as Mr. French on "Family Affair" and as the voice of the storyteller from Winnie the Pooh. And he was a fine looking bear of a man too. And oh, that voice! I remember his refined British accent with that deep manly voice and it just made me want to hug him. A real teddy bear I bet.

I *vaguely* remember the show being on television, but I do remember that I loved watching it (how strange is that).

And yeah, both seasons are out on DVD! I haven't both the second season yet, just waiting to see if the first was as good as I remembered... or not.

I remember being totally excited with the Hardy's and Nancy actually teamed up! It was almost (but not really) as good as when Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers teamed up! LOL

and then I saw my dad's copy of Playboy with "Pamela Sue Martin exposed" and I was crushed for life LOL

Oh I wish the Six-Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman would be released on DVD! I loved those shows.

so weird to me that they haven't come out. I wonder why. It's not like some shows where there were lots of songs rights to get that holds up the process. Must be some other legal issue :(

"Family Affair" would not have been worth watching without Sebastian Cabot. The ironic thing about that "refined British accent" is that he was actually a true Cockney. Proof again that who we are is not defined by where we're from, but what we make of ourselves.

Oh I think he was such a handsome man and obviously a great actor to produce such flawless accent.

As a youngster I fantasized about living in their apartment. As an adult, I added the twist of a 3-way with Mr. French & Uncle Bill...
