Unfinished from the Sketchbooks

After running several errands after work (comic books, grocery shopping, picking up a FedEx package, oil change) and mowing the yard before the sun went down, I wasn't in much of a drawing mood last night. I was thumbing through some of the multiple sketchbooks in the house and found a few unfinished and unposted toons.

Grizzly puts together his costume
This was the rough sketch I did when Grizzly decided to do the superhero thing. My idea was that he was pulling out old Halloween costumes to make his uniform. A smaller version of this went into the Grizzly origin toon I drew some time back.

Nebula of the super-villain
group the Clique
One of the first super villain groups I thought of was called the Clique, each of the five members representing a stereotypical high school clique group -- a jock, a popular cheerleader, a geek, a rebel, and a freak. A super-powered evil Breakfast Club bent on world destruction. Ideally, the five wouldn't get along amongst themselves I suppose. Nebula was my goth-girl, originally I just had her with white skin, black eyes, and surrounded by a cloud of blackness. She could drain all energy from a person who was enveloped in her fog. One day I tried to make the design a bit more risky and gave her a baby doll type mask to wear, but made it cracked down the face. I've not really drawn this design since, but I liked how it turned out.

The Unfinished Wrestler
This one was so unfinished that it's not much more than an outline. I drew this one at dinner at Qdoba one night. Eventually, I had planned to shade it and add some body hair, but now I think I might leave him smooth if I finish it.
