Green Shirt Thursday!Me, in my office, this morning.

Last night Tim and I went to dinner at the Beer Seller in Newport. There I found only the second place that serves Murphy's Irish Stout on tap, the other place being a pub in Dublin, Ohio, which I've heard recently stopped selling it. It's a good beer, a bit smoother and less bitter than Guinness, so they go down a lot faster. It's something to remember, perhaps the movie bears should hit the place sometime after a movie.

The trip overseas looms ever closer, it'll be here in a bit over two weeks. I'm feeling my usual amount of apprehensiveness -- lots to do, lots to get ready, etc. You'd think after years of doing this I'd be better at preparing. I'll be trying to get clothes ready for the trip and thankfully it's not the usual three week jaunt. That third week gets a bit rough.

Happy Thursday all. We're one day closer to the weekend...

The Dubliner used to have murphy's on tap. yum. i doubt the place that bought the location does.

I've not been to the new Molly Malone's to eat, though I walk past it often on the way to my comic book shop.

Murphy's is hard to find on tap. I enjoy it when I do!

yep, i'm a murphy's man meself.

i went to molly malone's not long after it opened and the food was horrible, the service non-existent.

went again long after, the food was still terrible, and our waiter apologized non-stop for everything from the slow kitchen, taking forever to be seated in an empty restaurant, and cold food.

i'm really surprised they're still open.

Come to think of it, now that you say this, I think I have eaten in there since they became Molly Malone's. I remember thinking that the waiter wasn't very attentive considering how empty the place was. I think I took [livejournal.com profile] mikiedoggie there.

And I walk past the place every so often as I head to the comic book shop. It only has a few people in there at most when I do.

Pretty as ever.

Bring a camera. You aren't going to be in those training rooms all the time.

Awww... shucks... thanks.

And I always carry a camera, sometime two! I look at these trips often as the "only time I'll ever see this place." Though, ironically, I did that with a very brief visit to Waterford only to return there a couple of years later.

Well, don't you look all perky and spiffy and excited this morning, like a kid under the tree on Christmas morning?

Perky and spiffy? It's all an illusion. To quote the well-coiffed sage Suzanne Sugarbaker, "a clever make up job can conceal anything."

Well, then let your hair down, I won't mind it if you go make up less with me. ;-)

Mikie, Mikie, Mikie... have you not been reading my journal? Oh well, since you're in pain, I'll forgive.

I'm off to Denmark, France, and Portugal for two weeks in mid-September. Sigh... and I'm missing Pride Night at King's Island. So... yay ... and boo... :)

Is your cat named after beer?

Yep! When I got Murphy, his previous owner had named him "Sadie" thinking he was a girl when he was a kitten. She learned the truth when she took him to be spayed and found out she had a male not a female.

So, I gave him a good masculine Irish name to match his red hair, which just so happened to be the name of one of my favorite beers.

It is utterly rediculous how good you look.

Not that I'm bitter...or envious.
