Kondom des Grauens!

Sometimes it is unbelievable the stuff that I'll watch. Some of it is pure crap, but even that can be enjoyable. I was cruising through the LOGO channel last Thursday night and came across this movie on the "Graveyard Shift." I recorded it and watched it over the weekend.

Kondom des Grauens (alias "Killer Condom") is a 1996 German horror/comedy based on a comic book of the same name. When a series of Bobbitt-esque incidents occur at the Hotel Quickie, a gay NYC detective Luigi Macaroni investigates and discovers the perp is a mutated killer prophylactic roaming the rooms of the no-tell-motel. And the monster rubber is not one-of-a-kind.

There are some interesting points to this campy flick. While set in NYC, everyone speaks German. There are English subtitles. The lead actor, Udo Samel, is a cute pocket bear and plays the detective seriously. The special effects aren't too bad.

It's certainly not Shakespeare, but it's good for a laugh or two....

'Luigi Macaroni'? ... LOL !
The trailer looks pretty good ... perhaps start of a new niche in satyrical film.
