One of my retired coworkers is here under contract and brought in photos of past events we have had at work. I found this photo of me at the 1995 "Bring Your Child to Work" Day when I was a chemist in the lab. I was doing my "ammonia fountain" presentation for the kids. OMG! Those glasses... that hair... that cheesy stache...


Me Working at 22
It's startling to realize how life was back then for me. At the time this photo was taken, I:

• was 22 years old and looked (and felt) older,
  
• was living in a large, cheap and mostly empty apartment,
  
• was living paycheck to paycheck for the most part,
  
• was not a beer drinker and had never gotten drunk once,
  
• was deep in the closet,
  
• had no real outside social activities, and
  
• had never traveled anywhere farther than Cincinnati at this point.

While I'm sometimes even more startled that I'm approaching 40 in a few years, I can't say I'm not happy with the changes. It's good to be (mostly) happy with how things have turned out so far.


Me Working This Morning

• 36 and look younger (I've been told this -- hush you bitches!)
  
• Living in a small but fully furnished house that is mine.
  
• Savings account!
  
• Love me some Guinness or a Young's Double Chocolate Stout!
  
• Happily out for the most part!
  
• Going out regularly! Friends everywhere and all over!
  
• Traveled from coast to coast and some parts abroad. (Yes, Mikie, I know... Chicago!)
