- I had a dream last night that I was sharing a house with a young female roommate who apparently could channel spirits by typing their words onto her typewriter. While the roommate was sleeping, I heard her typewriter clacking away in the next room. I went to the typewriter and several keys were mashed down and stuck. The only word on the paper in the machine was "BERNICE" and I believe it was the roommate's name. I think there may be a scary story in this somewhere.
- When I work out in the dark cardio cinema at the gym, iPod blaring in my ears, I daydream that I am performing at a rock concert, singing the songs I'm hearing. While I can't sing well in real life, I do fairly well in my imaginary one. I don't sing out loud in the cardio cinema, but I do tend to move my lips I think. Covered in sweat and breathlessly singing into a mike, I am cheered on by an amazing crowd at odd concert venues, like the courtyard of the Bunratty Castle in Ireland. In fact, I perform there often.
- Even though I know he's a cat, I sometimes talk to Murphy as though he were human. Last night as I was doing some computer things and was up past my usual bedtime, Murphy came into the room, meowed at me, and then sat back and stared at me. It was bedtime and he was wondering what I was doing up so late. I looked at him and said, "Geez, Murph, don't be so pushy..."

Date: 2009-03-05 03:20 pm (UTC)Only one folly with your scary story idea .... you'd have to spend quite a bit of time explaining to your audience what a typewriter was as I am sure many of the demographic who would be interested in this sort of story (ie teeny boppers), wouldn't have a clue about that antique. :)
The rock concert performance whilst working out: absolutely charming.
Conversations with animals. It seems that just by virtue of the fact that they are around and alive make them worthy of conversation.

And while typewriters are archaic these days, I think they do add an air of spookiness to the idea. I wonder why I didn't dream of it as a computer?
And Murphy talks back on occasion. I just can't understand his accent.
