Movies and a Toon
Feb. 9th, 2009 07:33 amWhere do the weekends go? I napped quite a bit this weekend and I still woke up feeling pretty tired today. Sigh... At least the snow is vanishing, which is a good thing for this area. It'll be 60 degrees today, a veritable heat wave considering what we've endured lately.
Saturday, Brian (
cincycub) and I caught a morning showing of "He's Just Not That Into You" at the Levee, where there was also a Polar Bear Plunge charity event going on. We opted for the movie, which I have to say I left me unimpressed. With my being single, I think it resonated some pretty negative feelings for me, but I don't think it was that great a movie either. The previews I think made it out to be funnier than it was.
Last night, I did a super-powered bear toon based very loosely on the biker character from that "Midnight Movie" post from last week. I put it behind the cut for the uninterested, but it is work-safe.

Titan
Titan has the ability to draw mass from the Earth to increase his size and strength. I haven't decided on whether he is hero or villain, but leaning toward hero.
I looked at it again this morning and my only complaint is that he came across looking a bit too much like the Ultimate Thor. I wonder if a change in costume colors would fix that a bit. Opinions?

Date: 2009-02-09 01:27 pm (UTC)At only 43% positive, He's Just Not That Into You has been getting tepid reviews at best.
On a separate issue ... I did finally get to see My Bloody Valentine, my very first 3-D movie. I was impressed how well the polarized glasses worked, but I'm not sure I'd always be willing to shell out an extra 2-3 bucks per film just for the 3-D effect. It would have be a damned good movie. This one was OK, 6 out of 10 stars.
