negative temperatures
Brrrr!

I honestly had no idea my car's thermometer reading would go below zero and give a negative number. I learned something new today.

TV Trivialities & Opinions:

1. Can you match the Ford car to the Angel from Charlie's Angels?

-- Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson)--> -- Ford Mustang?
-- Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith)--> -- Ford Cobra?
-- Jill Monroe (Farrah Fawcett)--> -- Ford Pinto?

2. What family lives on Spooner Street?

3. Which show had or has the best non-human (i.e. alien, pet, puppet) character and who was the character?

4. Who was the best TV mom? Who was the worst?

5. Who was the best TV dad? Who was the worst?

My favorite is Janice, the "stoner" chick in the band.

I loved the "pop up video" stuff on the season 1 discs. I was so dissapointed when I saw that Season 2 didn't have them....

There's a ton of cool stuff on there about how and why they did the show the way they did.

1. Jill Monroe (Farrah Fawcett)--> -- Ford Mustang
Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith)--> -- Ford Pinto
Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson)--> -- Ford Cobra

2. No clue

3. I liked "Dinosaurs," which was all puppets. I never much liked "Alf." Fondest memories revolve around Kermit on Sesame Street as a child.

4. Best TV mom: Rosanne.
Worst: Reba

5. Best TV dad: I had to look it up but it is Jake Weber who plays Joe Dubois on "Medium." He's presently an out-of-work intellectual stay-at-home-dad who is usually always in his underwear.

Worst TV dad: Homer.

2. This one may be tough.

3. Dinosaurs was great! Especially the grandmother! :D

Of course they gave the Pinto to the dyke!

1. Excellent work, you know your Angels and their cars. Poor Sabrina, why they stuck her with the Pinto I'll never know.

2. Yep!

3. Meep!

5. Oooh.. James Eckhouse was a hottie indeed! :)

They stuck her with the pinto because she wasn't one of the pretty ones, she was the smart one. Remember?

For the record, my first car was a Kelly Garrett model, though I've always felt more like Sabrina.

Actually, if I remember correctly, the pinto was supposed to be the first affordable car for everyone, so I'm sure it was thrown in there to make it seem flashy so folks would buy it. Sabrina, being the smart one and all, probably made people feel like it was a good buy.

Of course, that whole exploding gas tank problem didn't come out until later :)

1 - no clue

2 - The Griffin's (I think)

3 - I dunno, but Alf keeps popping to mind as a great-at-the-time-but-scary-now one *g*

Oh, and I answered before reading [livejournal.com profile] caviecub's answer about question 2 ;)

I bet you didn't want to learn that your thermometer could go negative either....

1. I don't think that I watched Charlie's Angels. I think that in reruns as a kid I found it kind of annoying.

2. No clue on this one but I read caviecub's answer.

3. This is such a tough one. I love Muppets and all the related shows mentioned so far. No one has mentioned Fraggle Rock though. I always liked Uncle Traveling Matt and Sprocket the Dog... Ooooh - and Madame Trash Heap was great too.

4. I'll agree with sweetjimmyto - Roseanne was the best TV mom (because she was real). And I think the worst was Jackee' in any show where she played a mom.

5. I'll extend sweetjimmyto and say that Dan Connor was the best TV dad. (Besides, John Goodman is some sort of patron saint of bears and such.) The worst TV dad is a tough one... Harry Munster maybe?
