Howdy all ...
Just an update on Mom. She came through the surgery okay, looks terrible, but that's the way people look after surgery. And we managed to not lose her false teeth, a large concern of her's. Despite our laughing hysterically at her method of teeth removal in the pre-surgery area, my twin did not keep them in his mouth as promised to her. (Getting nearly evicted from pre-surgery or ICU is the norm for when my sibs and I get together in any hospital setting).
The 80% blockage was removed, the ulcer removed, and 100+ stitched put in place. The doc is pretty good. The nurses and volunteers even better. After seeing Dad slowly pass away after his stroke, the fear of Mom having one is a hard image to handle. The doc said her chances of stroke are severely diminished now.
Big warm hugs to everyone for the well-wishes, prayers, e-mails and text messages today. You guys are the greatest.
