Last Night's Game and Afterward
Jun. 25th, 2008 08:07 amI had a pretty good game last night. Four times at bat, three hits and one walk and two hits went to the outfield and were not caught. This may sound rather simplified, but most of my outfield hits don't get me on base. I scored one run. My catching game was off last night though. I could stop anything the pitcher was throwing, which was odd as I usually don't have trouble with this particular pitcher. The good part is that all that up and down squatting did wonders for my glutes, which are sore this morning.
After the game (okay, during the game too), I had a beer that kept being refilled by my teammates after the win. I was buzzing pretty well, so I watched the next game or so to let it wear off. It made for a last night and I was a bit tired.
There was a bit of unintentional drama last night though. The fire department and an ambulance showed up during the second game. While most of us wondered why they showed, some were checking out the EMT's. My comment was, "if they're here to put out the flames, they'll need more trucks!"
The reason they showed up was a player on the opposing field who had a stint put in last week and was playing this week. They took him off and the game resumed, but we were all wondering why this guy was playing in that sort of condition. I believe someone said that he was going to be fine. I was happy it wasn't Barry, the cute daddy bear on the other team, as I enjoy watching him play.
These late nights make for a rough morning though... *groan*...
