The Pre-Trip Freak Out

Yeah, it's been that sort of week. Despite the grand and fun diversion that was mikiedoggie this weekend, this week so far has been one giant stress after another. It will come to head on Friday when I have to board the plane to Dublin and think about the balance of a) gleefully being away from the office, but b) working in hotel rooms for another three weeks (albeit in Ireland).

I'm taking the small accomplishments wherever they are. I managed to get my application mailed off for the new job in my office yesterday. It doesn't close until mid-April, so I wont hear anything for a while, but it's nice that mine is already off to the HR folks.

Things left to do:
-- Get pet sitter the keys
-- Laundry and overpacking (as usual)
-- Get trip DVD's ready
-- Get iPod loaded
-- Digital camera, charged
-- Clean house
-- Call Mom
(Hmmm... it's not as long a list as I thought)

I'm sure I'll be on an anxiety high until the plane takes off. After all, once I'm in the air, the office can't contact me. I have looked at my hotels and so far they look pretty decent and have some really nice amenities and are near some cool places.

My username is kybearfuzz because I am from KY, am bearish, and am fuzzy. In retrospect I wish I had chosen something different. Since my email, journal, and profiles all have this username, it seems like too much trouble to change it.

My name is Mark because my parents named me after my maternal grandfather Marcus. I have his dark hair and nearly black eyes, so it's a good match. When Mom was preggers with me and the twin, my folks thought they'd name the baby after one of the grandfathers, but were having trouble choosing which grandfather. When two of us appeared, it solved the problem.

3. My journal is titled ____ because ____.
My journal is titled "Whine and Cheese" because I thought it would be funny. Part of journal is about my complaints and part about the goofy things in my life. I know there is some real content in there too... somewhere...

4. My friends page is called ____ because ____.
My friends page is called "Daily Desserts" because reading friends' entries, particularly at work between stressful moments is a break, something I look forward to, like a dessert... though many of you are not covered in whipped cream, but I think you'd look stunning in it.

5. My default userpic is ____ because ____.
My default userpic is just me because I think it people like to see who they are reading about. It's not a strange pic, not showing any odd or unusual emotion. Me at my most calm... before the next crisis erupts.

I get the same way when I travel. I grossly overpack and worry about everything.

I'm always this way when I travel, so the pre-trip freak out is the norm. I'm good once the trip has started :)
