I decided to take the day off, just wanted to rest, I slept in late and ran errands after lunch. Here are the highlights:
  • Grocery shopping on Weight Watchers is certainly different. I actually filled the shopping basket with things I've not bought for a long LONG time. After low-carbing it for so long, it's strange to have bread in the house again.
  • I went to see Saw VI Saw IV. Not bad, very gory in some parts. I was happily surprised to see Scott Patterson from Gilmore Girls fame in it. He's so purdy! The movie isn't something I'd buy, but its worth a look.
  • After getting home, I had a message on my answering machine from a guy calling about his job application to Taco Bell. Knowing he'd called a wrong number, I phoned him back to let him know. Once I told him he'd not called the right place, he just hung up on me. Rude jerk!
  • Day one on the diet has gone well, stayed well within the allowed points (which seemed high to me).

I've been doing weight watchers since March this year. It's definitely do-able. Lost about 20 pounds and now got to buckle down and get to my goal. Just keep a journal and be honest with your points.

You should call the Taco Bell he confused you with and tell them not to hire him after that ;)

I ought to, shouldn't I? *evil grin*

My guess is that since they've not called him back after several days, he didn't get the job. I'm not surprised seeing how his manners for dealing with strangers seems to be a bit off. I'm sure the interview went down hill.

I sincerely hope you rock the WW program ... I'm vaguely familiar as Pablo followed it for six months when we moved in together. I could never get used to the WeighWatchers' bread, mind you.

Funny story, one of our servers at the restaurant has a role in the film. She may, or may not have been killed ... she's hoping her character, Tracy, will be resurrected for Saw V.

If I recall correctly, Tracy lived! How very cool that she was a part of the movie!

I just bought the WW bread, so we'll see how well it goes down :)

I used to love horror and gore films, but haven't watched many in the last few years.
I saw Saw IV at the weekend and some scenes freaked me out. Something about gore being gorier when it looks real (not like the 70's/80's style).

Great adrenalin rush though after the film :-)

There were a few scenes I was wincing at while watching. I'm a fan of being scared versus being grossed out. I was still figuring things out after the movie though as I think the timeline of the movie was a bit off as some scenes were actually occuring after the main story of the film took place.

If you are going to do WW, then you need to know about this web site.

www.dwlz.com

It stands for Dotties Weight Loss Zone. She puts point values of restaurant food out there. It is one of the most complete lists on the internet.

Now that is an awesome site!

I've been using www.dietfacts.com for restaurants, but dwlz is a lot less work. Thanks :)

Saw VI already!?!?!

One of my lines at work...is nearly the same as Eastern State Mental Hospital (with two numbers transposed). I take great pleasure in telling them that "No, they're not here, and I can't tell you anything about their condition."

I come eat bread with you! Hongry...

ah...bread. milton's multigrain is an excellent choice IMO. 1 pt per slice. has good taste. toasts up nicely.

also, healthy choice premium mocha bars rock! 2 pts. also, slim-a-bear ice cream sammiches from klondike...well, they DO slim a bear! at least this one.

btw...how many pts did they load you up with? i get 30...but know as i continue losing (too quickly, bad jerry!) that my pts will prolly start dropping.

good luck with it all!

For some reason, I got 36 daily points, which seems unusually high in my opinion.

Thanks for the info on some goodies, I do love ice cream :D

wow...36 pts....score! hehe

i'm 6'1", when i started was just under 270...my partner is 5'8" and at 215 when he started. i get 30....he only gets 24.

granted, it could have something to do with age (he's 53, i'm 44).

the one thing i constantly run into is stuff with articial sweetner. i cannot do ANYthing articial, especially aspartame. it makes me...postal. besides, that shit's bad for you!
