A Visit to Indianapolis
Jul. 1st, 2007 04:13 pmI first chatted up my buddy Mark in Indianapolis back in 2004 on 411. After he left the site, we continued to keep in touch by phone and by email. In all these years, we had never actually met face-to-face until this weekend. Mark has recently bought a house and invited me to come hang out and see the city.

It was very exciting to finally give Mark a big hug after years of talking and chatting. He's a very sweet guy and darn handsome to boot. He gave me a tour of his new house, a beautiful two-bedroom bungalow home with hardwood floors and full of windows with lots of light. After the tour, we went for brunch and then took a walking tour of the Central Canal in downtown Indianapolis.

It was so nice out that day, and some good eye candy was out jogging. I managed to snag a couple of shots with my camera, but man, they are fast.

After the canal, Mark and I went to the Indiana State Museum. Mark is a proudIndianaian (is that right?) Hoosier. The museum is three stories with city history, science information, and interactive exhibits. A running gag for us in the science area, which talked about where Indiana was during techtonic plate movements millions of years ago, was that it was "all wrong, according to the Creation Museum!"

We went for ice cream afterwards, hung out with his friends Chris and Deanna for a while, and then hung out at his place before catching an evening showing of Ratatouille. It was a cute movie, very good, but felt a bit long. The opening cartoon called "Lifted" was much funnier.
We crashed soon after getting back to Mark's house and went out for breakfast the next morning. In a discussion about the guys who have been interested in us, Mark defined the "potential honey" rating of dates as the "pH" factor, which is cool for someone with a science background. Mark had a great date with a handsome guy the night before and was having a second date today. His pH rating was high. I hope it went well.
I had a great time and really enjoyed hanging out with Mark. Hopefully, we'll get to do it again. More photos of the weekend are in the gallery here.
