Up and Down Monday

I went to work in a bizarre funk this morning. The fact that it was Monday had a lot to do with it. Work has been particularly stressful of late and I've been report writing. I also slept poorly. A few odd coincidences that merged into a foul mood to begin this day.

It didn't help that one of my burly coworkers was talking about his daughter and her failing dating life and another co-worker quickly snapped, "Well, Mark's a single guy, you should pair them up." I just love it when people do that. Makes me feel like the leftovers at a potluck. I fought the temptation to say to him, "but I'd rather date you, you sexy bear!" Grrr! Why is it that married people try to be matchmakers??? They think they are being cute and helpful, but in my case, they are aggrevating and annoying.

I understand your not out at work yet but I know if it had been me I would have come back with well I would rather go out with you , chuckle chuckle, chuckle, Just for shock value. I have had the luxury of being out at jobs before. I dont hide that I am gay(if people have the guts to ask I tell) but I dont volunteer the information and they seriously have to ask me direct before I will say anything. They cant play the beat around the bush game... This is the only job I have had in the last 8 years that I have not felt comfotable being out at, and go figure this is the first job I have had that has DP benefits.. Just not sure what it is... There are a few people on my floor that have asked and been told but they have been so cool about not spreading it around.. They say its your postion to tell people not me... Anyways not really sure if this had any point at all, I am rambling but just wanted you to know I have been there and I know what your going through...

Thanks guy, I appreciate the support. I'm tempted to just tell the office gossip and let it spread like natural wildfire, but I'm like you, if they ask, I tell. I doubt anything would happen to me if I did, but it would make a stressful situation more so for a while.
