Class --> Airport --> Home --> Dinner
Dec. 8th, 2006 10:55 pmI closed the class today with my graphics presentation. Overall, I think it was well received, but I really need to work on anticipating a few of their questions. I had almost no time to pack my work stuff before I had to rush off to the airport, which was fine with me. I really was looking forward to getting home.
After a quick lunch, I settled down at my gate and got my digital camera out. Not a lot of eye candy really, though there was one very striking gentleman in a suit with the most unusual mustache I'd ever seen where the part under his nose was turning white, standing out against the black. I managed to snag a picture.

The black and white mustache
Eventually I got on my flight and ended up sitting next to a very stocky guy. I don't mean he was heavy, but rather someone who played football in college or something, a wide body, which took up his seat and half of mine. It was a very uncomfortable way to travel. In our conversations, he told me that he was one of the air marshals on board the plane, as was the friends he'd been conversing with before take off. I wondered if he was putting me on, but we started discussing federal salaries and retirement conditions and it sounded pretty legit. Strangely enough, once I found out what he did for a living, he seemed a bit more attractive to me. Something about that raw masculinity of a guy who carries a gun. Who knows.
I was very happy to get on the ground and have some breathing space. I left the airport and went to get my hair cut. While waiting, I was reading the latest "Spin" Magazine. In it I found my new celebrity crush, Ronnie Vannucci, the drummer for the band The Killers. Per the magazine, he's sporting a thick mustache and a scruffy beard that just makes him very HOT!
I made it home to drop off the bags, shower and change and then to the Levee to have dinner with
cincycub. We ate at Dewey's Pizza where I had a prime seat for one of the best looking guys I've seen in a while. Tall, well-built, dark hair and eyes, full beard, etc. The only negative was that long pony-tail, but I thought he wore it well. Sadly, he wasn't our waiter. I did manage to snag a blurry shot of him while he served a nearby table.

After eating some very good food, we went to shop a bit at Barnes & Noble. I picked a copy of the latest "Spin" for myself, a new Get Fuzzy book, and a book on the worst album covers every made. Some of these are hilarious. For example, the Ethel Merman Disco Album is just scary, and it's one of the most tasteful. This is a book full of LJ icons in the making. When I have more time, I'll have to scan some of them in for the masses to ridicule.
Whew, those lengthy posts are rough. Sleeping in my own bed will be nice for a change.

Date: 2006-12-09 03:26 pm (UTC)Alas, I lent it to someone in college to record and never saw it again. :(
I think it might have been released on CD. I should buy it just for the kitch factor.
