La Cage Aux Folles

Brian (
cincycub) and I went to see LJ's very own Derek (
_decibel_) in La Cage Aux Folles.
It was a great show -- all that drag, all that singing, and all those hot bears in the audience. Brian and I had picked out the ones we wanted. There were some younger guys for him, some graying daddies for me. Wayne Wright who plays Albin is remarkable, a great voice and some of the best mannerisms I've ever seen. He could give Dame Edna a run for her money. Joe Hornbaker plays Georges, the dad, and is quite a good singer in his own right.
In the Cagelles was a familiar face or two. One guy both Brian and I thought looked familiar but couldn't place. The other was a cute waiter, Daniel, from Universal Grille, who we didn't know could sing! And of course, there was our Derek looking as handsome as ever on stage!
After the show, Brian and I waited in the lobby to greet Derek. A very handsome bear, dark hair and balding, with a thick full beard and very rubbable tummy was chatting with other theatergoers and caught my eye. Derek arrived for hugs and congrats. Sadly, the cutie bear I'd admired, per Derek, is straight, but a sweet guy who does stage work for the show. Derek introduced me and Brian to him and he seems like a nice guy. All the good ones seem to be partnered or straight.. sigh... :)
